Voiceprint Search January 25th '99

her to compile a list of people who have outstanding Strangled
subscriptions and who have now subscribed to Voiceprint.
If this applies to you, please contact Niki directly (before Feb 2nd),
detailing what you have received from Voiceprint, when the subscription
commenced and how much you had left of your Strangled subscription.
Replies will be checked by Voiceprint for validity of the claim.

Black and White Concert Update December 16th '98
On the morning of August 11th 1999 (not the 7th, as previously reported),
a total solar eclipse will pass over the south west of England.
To celebrate this
event, a special Stranglers concert is being planned on August 7th.
Appropriately christened "Black and White: The Eclipse Concert", the gig
will take place
in Bencoolen Meadows, near Bude (which will experience a 99% eclipse on
the 11th). The cost of tickets is £19.99 and the
hotline booking number is: 0191 5121109.
The current plan is film this concert, for future release on video.
Site Updates December 15th '98
Now the UK tour is over and we've waded through the back-log of email, etc.,
we've taken advantage of the (relative) lull to update some of over pages
(particularly with regard to the tour and recent releases).
In the "Reference Articles" section, the
following pages have been revised:
Gig Reviews: A review of three UK dates (with pictures).
Studio Albums.
Live Albums.
Discography.
Album Track-Listings.
Commercial Sites December 15th '98
We often get emails asking for help in getting Stranglers albums/CDs/tapes
which are hard to find in that person's geographical location. While we
do not set out to endorse any commercial concerns, we have compiled a
short list of commercial sites on our "links"
page who are known to deal in Stranglers material, in a hope that these
will be able to help out our readers with their searches.
Web Broadcast December 16th '98
On the evening of December 15th, the Stranglers played a fore-shortened
version of their UK tour set for an industry-only event at the Institute
for Contemporary Art (ICA) in London, UK. This event was broadcast on the
web, albeit plagued by sound and video problems (at least here in the US).
The set-list for this gig was:
God is Good (intro only); Skin Deep; Coup de Grace; Nice 'n' Sleazy;
Thrown Away; Money; The Raven; Five Minutes; Toiler on the Sea;
Always the Sun; Valley of the Birds; 96 Tears; Straighten Out;
Brainbox; All Day and All of the Night; Duchess; Golden Brown;
Hanging Around; No More Heroes.
For those unable to find the broadcast: unfortunately, the organisers
moved the broadcast page at (literally) the very last minute (actually, they changed the file
extension from html to asp, fooling anyone trying to go directly to that
site). Not a change we anticipated (or were notified about). We hope
that our posting, on this page, of the revised address during the broadcast was helpful.
Stranglers Newsgroup December 10th '98
Harold Zijp in the Netherlands has
informed us that his (unofficial) newsgroup "alt.music.stranglers"
is now operational.
Since not all internet service providers will necessarily carry the
new newsgroup, it may be necessary to e-mail your newsmaster to add it.
