Paul Roberts Statements
|
June 4th 2006
|
Last night saw the first outing of the Stranglers in their new four-piece format (JJ, Baz,
Dave and Jet). We have been asked to post the following two statements today (June 4th) regarding
Paul's Departure from the band.
Please note that this is all the information that we (the Rat's Lair) have on this subject
to date, so please do not email us for further information.
FROM THE BAND:
Paul has sadly left the group after nearly 16 years loyal service. Paul leaves on a very amicable basis and
will concentrate on Soulsec as this is an exciting time for his project. The band wish him the very very best
with Soulsec and will continue to support him in every way we can as he will continue his relationship with all
the Stranglers team. We have had some fantastic times together and Paul’s presence will be sadly missed. The band
will not seek to replace Paul but will condense to their former 4 piece format with JJ and Baz taking over lead vocals.
The band will finish recording the new studio album in a few more weeks ready for a September release and will
continue with all their live commitments throughout the summer.
Paul would like to thank all the fans for their support over the many years he has been with the band.
A statement from Paul will be available from his Soulsec site at www.soulsec.com
FROM PAUL:
AN OPEN LETTER TO THE FANS OF THE STRANGLERS........
Dear all,
I would like to keep this as simple as possible.
It is with very heavy heart I have to inform you that after nearly sixteen years it has been mutually agreed that
I part company with the band - we had some incredible times and adventures together that will stay with me
forever.I wish them every success.
It means a lot to me that I have this opportunity to thank all of those among you who have expressed your
appreciation of my efforts - form the deepest part of my heart and soul.
You really are the best fans any band could have.
All I would hope is that you always felt that I gave you and my colleagues 100% - I know no other way.
I wish all of you the very best in whatever you are doing or wherever you find yourselves in life.
I shall miss you all.
I shall of course continue to perform and record with my on-going projects and would welcome you with open arms to
the 'Soulsec' website or out on the road somewhere, sometime - so, don't be strangers.
Once again I thank you all with all my heart for your generosity and support over the last fifteen - odd years.
We have had some truly awesome times eh??.....please take care.....
Most sincerely yours.
Paul xxxx.
SIS Online would also like to thank Paul for his 16 years with the band and wish him all
the very best in the future.
