October 13th 2000The second part of the Stranglers documentary will appear on the BBC Choice digital channel next Wednesday (18th October). We are told (by the BBC) that the transmission times are 8.00pm and 12.00; however, due to conflicting information coming from the BBC, Scottish viewers should check their local listings. The press release from the BBC is as follows:
The Stranglers (Side 2)
The second part of the story of The Stranglers, charting the band's rise to fame in the 1980s to present day. Despite the departure of lead singer and frontman Hugh Cornwell in 1990, the band continue to perform successfully to thousands of fans all over the world. Interviews with members of The Stranglers. Presented by jazz singer and art critic, George Melly. Producer/Director: Angus McIntyre
Solar Live is a charity gig/album/gathering of Paul Roberts fans, who are getting the chance to see The Faith Band, watch the recording of an album, take part in a cover shot for it, and receive a "deleted on day of release" album. Proceeds are going to "Prostate Cancer Charity UK", a charity dedicated to the research into, and the care of the suffering. Prostrate Cancer led to the loss of Paul's father on the day of the Faith Band's first gig.
In conjunction with this event, Paul has asked us to post the following address for charitable contributions to "Prostrate Cancer Charity UK":
Paul Roberts, P.O. Box 57, Morecambe. LA4 5GP.
Cheques should be make out to "Paul Roberts".
Baz Warne has informed us that he is scheduled to play the following solo gigs in the near future. As always, these are subject to changes beyond the control of Baz or his agents.
