A limited-edition tour-only single titled "Everybody Wants" will also
be available.
"Time" can be obtained via mail-order, direct from PHD music. Tel (UK): 01491-825029 Ext-Mail Order, or email: plasticheadMO@compuserve.com. Paul Roberts' first solo CD is entitled "(This) God (Is Mine)", and will
be out shortly. Originally showcased on the "In the Night" tour, this

(which can be heard on Paul's official site) and "Sold On Dreams".
The price will be £2.50, plus postage and packing.
If you're interested in a copy, please register your interest on the official Paul Roberts site, to give Paul an idea of how many to press.

The November issue of "Bassist" magazine (which hits the UK newstands on
October 11th) will feature an interview with JJ. In this conversation,
JJ looks back over 25 years with the band, from a bass-player's point of
view.
Scott Rowley, the magazine's editor has kindly allowed us to reproduce two excerpts from this interview. They can be found on this page, which will be archived in our reference articles section.
Details on ordering Bassist magazine can be found here.
A review of John's gallery album "In Rhodt" appears on page 11 of the current issue of Misfit City webzine.
The first US date for Hugh's fall tour will be on Wednesday November 3rd at New York's Mercury Lounge. Further dates should be announced shortly -- see www.hughcornwell.com for details.
There are now three official (current and past) band-member sites (for Hugh Cornwell, John Ellis and Paul Roberts). Consequently, we have given them their own section on our links page, to ease navigation to these sites.
The UK Tribute band "No More Heroes" will be playing at the Bierkeller, Southampton on Saturday 2nd October 1999. They will be playing two 45 minute sets covering 1977 to 1998.
Saturday 16th October sees the band return to the Chequers at Hucknall, Nottingham: admission will be free. According to Ash Reynolds, "The Chequers is getting a little too small for the band now, so this could be your last chance to see the band play there".

The first part of this interview has now been posted at: http://www.virtuetv.com/music/stranglerscontest.html. As the URL suggests, this page also includes details of a competition based on the band's interview answers. The winner will receive the disc set, "A celebration of the Stranglers years with EMI" (see below).
September 10th '99As reported below, today's (10th September) gig at the Covent Garden Doctor Martens store went out live via the web. This webcast was put together by EMI and Dr. Martens and was on the Dr. Martens site. Following this cast, there will now be rolling content of interviews/competition, etc., building up to the launch of "Hits and Heroes" on October 4th.
A prize disc set -- "A celebration of the Stranglers years with EMI" --
(pictured here) will
be on offer for the post-cast competition, which will run on
www.virtuetv.com. An archive
of the live set is now available from the virtuetv site. Interview material
from the event should be available shortly.
A page dedicated to the Dr. Martens gig has now been put up on this site. Featuring photos kindly supplied by Paul Abbott, this page will reside in our Reference Articles section.
The episode of the TV show "After They Were Famous", featuring JJ, was cancelled for its scheduled 3rd September transmission (to allow for a tribute to Princess Diana). No word as yet as to when this will be rescheduled.
